    What is included in the Protection Center?

    Protection Center contains two powerful tools to protect you from dangerous or suspected messages, links and websites that may compromise your personal information, or your computers security and safety.

    The first is the Spam Blocker, which scans each incoming message against a database of known spammers and junk mail. Only senders you trust will arrive in your Inbox, and you can then manually review the Spam Blocker at any time.

    The second is the Link Scanner, which scans links in all messages according to the category of website they fall into. The links are then labeled as Safe, Suspicious or Malicious. Malicious sites include those with Phishing/Fraud, Malware, Violence, Spam and similar.

    Since many users may forward an email without knowing the link contained within is unsafe, the Link Scanner will provide an extra level of security by scanning all mail, including those Trusted Users who may have sent you a Malicious link by mistake, or contained within a Forward.

     

    What is the Spam Blocker?

    The Spam Blocker uses unique technology to ensure that you will almost never have to check your ‘Spam’ folder again. It analyzes large volumes of Internet traffic in real time, in order to catch Spam and Malware outbreaks as soon as they emerge. All messages are scanned by the Spam Blocker and cross-checked with known Spam patterns using the Header of the message.

    It’s possible that initially, spam may arrive in your Inbox in error, however over the first initial weeks of use, this will improve dramatically. Also, right-clicking on Spam messages and choosing ‘Mark As Spam’ (as marked below in red) will contribute to the ongoing database of known Spam patterns and resources.

    Please Note: Not all messages you report are definitely classified as Spam. If you’re receiving mass mailings from legitimate companies or addresses, please also try using the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the unwanted message.

    You may register your IncrediMail Protection Center by clicking the ‘Help’ menu (as marked below in red) in your main IncrediMail window, and selecting ‘Enter Registration Code…’ (marked in blue). Enter your Protection Center license code exactly as you received it.

    How do I install the IncrediMail Protection Center?

    First, please click here, download and install the latest version of IncrediMail.

    Once you have the latest version of IncrediMail, click here and save the ‘protectioncenter.exe’ file to your Desktop.

    Complete the Protection Center installation process, right-click the IncrediMail Tray Icon (the orange envelope), located in the lower right-hand corner (near your Computer Clock), and select ‘Exit’ (marked in blue).

    Open IncrediMail – your Protection Center is now protecting your Inbox from Spam as well as links to malicious websites!

    How do I activate the Protection Center feature?

    You can activate your Protection Center in the following ways:

    1. Either click the ‘Protection’ icon (marked below in red) in your main IncrediMail window, or click ‘Turn On’, located next to ‘Spam Blocker’ (marked in blue) in the Folder list.MPC_ICON-LIST_on.jpg
    2. If you had a previous version of Spam Blocker, or JunkFilter Plus, you will be asked to update your ‘Approved Senders’ list. Click ‘Yes’ (marked below in red), and then ‘Next’ (marked in blue), and wait until the process is finished.MPC_SETUP_1.jpgMPC_SETUP_2.jpg
    3. Your Protection Center should now be turned on, and you can begin using it!

    Why is there an icon in my Messages?

    Upon opening a Message, you will see one of the following Link Scanner icons in the upper right-hand corner of the Message, which informs you on the safety of links in the message:

    • Not yet Scanned
    • Safe Links
    • Unknown
    • Suspicious Links
    • Contains Malicious Links

    Please Note: Users who are not Protection Center Members will see the ‘Scan’ icon at the end of links in their email messages.

    If you are not a Protection Center Member, and do not wish to see the Link Scanner, please click the ‘Tools’ menu (marked below in red), and then ‘Options’ (marked in blue).

    Under the ‘Security’ tab, remove the checkmark from ‘Automatically scan links within my emails’.

     

    How do I remove the Link Scanner icons from my Messages (Protection Center Member)?

    If you are a Protection Center Member, and do not wish to see the Link Scanner icons in Messages, please do the following:

    1. Click the ‘Protection’ icon (marked below in red) in your main IncrediMail window.ICONS_MPC.jpg
    2. Click the ‘Settings’ button on the bottom left of the Protection Center dialog.

    Please now choose one of the following options:

    • To turn off the Link Scanner completely, remove the checkmark from ‘Automatically scan links within my emails’.
    • To remove the Link Scanner icons, check ‘Activate Link Scanner only when I right-click a link’.

    How can I access Protection Center?

    You can open the Protection Center in several ways:
